  1. How do I report a crime?

    If you want to report a crime such as theft, criminal mischief, etc., you will need to speak with a police officer. Call the police administration number (717) 264-4131 and listen to the instructions. If you have an active police emergency requiring emergency police response, call 911. Use 911 for emergencies only.

  3. Where do I go to pay a Borough Parking Ticket?

    Parking tickets can be paid at the following location:
    Police Headquarters
    116 S. Second St.
    Chambersburg PA 17201
    Monday thru Friday 8am - 5pm.

    A nighttime drop box is also available at the Borough Offices.

  4. Where do I go to pay a traffic citation?

    Traffic citations can be paid at the following location:
    Office of the District Justice
    218 N. Second St.
    Chambersburg, PA 17201

    Instructions for paying the citation are also detailed on the back of the citation.

  5. How do I get a copy of an accident report?

    Accident reports are available at the following location:
    Police Headquarters

    Monday thru Friday 8am - 5pm.

    Special Note: There is a $15.00 fee for each copy of the report.

  6. Is there a curfew in the Borough of Chambersburg?

    Yes there is a curfew. This applies to all children under the age of 18 with the hours being different depending on the age of the child and the day of the week.

    CURFEW: It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of 18 to loiter or remain, either on foot or in or on a vehicle, in or upon any of the public streets, highways, alleys, parks or other public places, as well as private property posted with a "no loitering" warning, of the Borough of Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania unless such child shall be accompanied by a parent, guardian or other person having the legal care or custody of such child.

    Curfew Hours (ages 12-17): Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between the hours beginning at 10:30 p.m. and until 5:00 a.m.

    Friday or Saturday night beginning at 11:30 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

    Children under age 12: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night between the hours of 9:30 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

    Friday or Saturday night beginning at 11:30 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

  7. Where do I go to register my bicycle?

    Bicycle registration forms can be obtained at the police station. Once registered, the information can aid the police department in returning a lost or stolen bicycle.

    Please Register your bicycle: The department receives hundreds of found bicycles each year. If the owner of the bicycle cannot be located or the bicycle goes unclaimed, the found bicycles are then donated to the local toy mission.

  8. What can I do about the neighbor's barking dog?

    Prior to the police department issuing any citations for a nuisance dog, the following must occur. Written notice must be served by the complainant upon the nuisance dog owner in one of the following ways:

    1. By mailing a copy of the notice to the dog owner by any form of mail requiring a receipt signed by the dog owner.
    2. By personally delivering the notice to the dog owner.
    3. By handing a copy of the notice at the residence of the dog owner to an adult member of the family with which he resides, but if no adult member of the family is found, then to any adult person in charge of such residence.
    4. By fixing a copy of the notice to the door at the entrance of the premises in violation.
